Typo in Semiconductors/Basic Principles/Conduction section

Dear site organizers,

Firstly, thank you for this site as I regularly use it in my Solid State Physics course.

I came across a typographical error in the Semiconductors/Basic Principles/Conduction section in the sentence: “We see that despite opposite velocity signs for electrons and holes, they carry electric current in the same direction.” Since the velocity of electrons and holes are the same (as shown in the ‘Properties of holes’ section), I believe what was intended was “We see that despite opposite electric charge signs for electrons and holes, they carry electric current in the same direction.”

Cheers,
–Christopher

Hey @CGutierrez!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read the notes so closely and for pointing this out. The original sentence was trying to say that electrons and holes drift in opposite directions because their charges have opposite signs, yet their contributions to the current add up in the same direction. I’ve updated the wording so it explicitly highlights the charge-sign argument you mentioned, which makes the logic much clearer. Really appreciate the sharp eye—it helps keep the course material solid :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
