When reading the Sommerfield model lecture notes I was a bit confused at first by the notation. The ‘number of states’ and ‘number of particles’ are both denoted by N in the Sommerfield model lecture notes. It might be helpful to change this to N and N_{states} (like it was denoted during the lectures).
