Hey, I had a question about this exercise. For this question you needed to sketch the reciprocal lattice and the first Brillouin zone. I didn’t know how to sketch it and in the answer (you can find in the picture) they don’t sketch anything.
Question: Can you make the sketch that was needed in this question?

This is fully described in the answer model. The reciprocal lattice is rectangular, so the first Brillouin zone is simply a cuboid. The limits are
-\frac{\pi}{2a}\le k_x,k_y\le \frac{\pi}{2a},
\qquad
-\frac{\pi}{a}\le k_z\le \frac{\pi}{a}.
So compared with a cube, it is twice as tall in the k_z direction as in the k_x and k_y directions.
