Hi,
Where does the second term (the term vhdelta(k)) in the diagonals of the matrix come from? I’ve noticed that sometimes this second term is included and sometimes in some exercises it is not.
This is an extra correction to the free electron model (other than the Fourier components) because of the fact that one looks ‘near’ a certain boundary point and not precisely at the point. The book calls this ‘The vector \vec{k} not quite at a zone boundary’.
