I think that there is a typo on the axis label on the graph in the lecture notes of ‘Many atoms per unit cell’ where the equal masses are compared to the optical and acoustic dispersion relations. I think that it is ‘k’ that is plotted on the horizontal axis instead of ‘ka’, because of the labels of the dotted vertical lines already being divided by a.
